Top Things to Know About PP and PET Masterbatches

Plastic is billions dollar industry with its commercial usages in hundreds of ways across the globe. Plastic products are used in automotive, construction, piping, bags, packaging, airplane, and other consumer products. The list goes on and on with rapid production of new products.

But, how can plastic manufacturing industries produce such huge products? These are possible with the use of high-grades masterbatches, additives, and fillers. The masterbatches are used with a carrier resin to get desired mechanical functions, color, shapes, and other properties in the end products.

PP and PET are one of the most popular masterbatches used in the industry for commercial products. Let us know in detail about their uses in the manufacturing plant:

Polypropylene Masterbatch

Polypropylene is a linear hydrocarbon polymer and has thermoplastic in nature. The polymer is versatile and used for both plastic and fiber.

This polymer is mechanically rugged and resistant to chemical solvents like bases and acids. It makes the Polypropylene plastic suitable to use in many industries. This is why the Polypropylene woven masterbatch is commonly used in the manufacture of packaging, labeling, textiles, plastic part, and reusable containers. It is also used in molding household goods, automotive parts, marine and RV products.

PET masterbatch

PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate. It is a thermoplastic polymer carrier resin of the polyester family used in the manufacturing of fiber for clothing, containers, thermoforming and engineering resins.

Most of the PET products are used in the manufacturing of synthetic fiber and bottles. It is the fourth most-produced polymer in the plastic industry representing 18% of the world’s polymer production after PE, PP, and PVC.

Uses of PET/polyester masterbatch are varied among the plastic industry. This masterbatch is applied to manufacture bottle for soft drinks, packaging and thermal insulation products. With this addition in the carrier resin, the end products get better mechanical properties, strength and resistant to weather conditions.

For high grades masterbatches and additives, you must consider partnering with a renowned company engineering them. Many companies are offering black masterbatch from India to firms across the globe at best prices. Make sure to look at their research, innovative solution, grades, color variation, and reliability before selecting one for your company.
